It was a Spring day from October 1976 when a 16 years old boy did his debut on the professional football in Argentina. A long and curly haired player replaced Rubén Giacobetti in Argentinos Juniors and his name was something like Diego Armando Maradona. Or maybe Caradona as the newspaper informed one month ago talking about this promise.
The fans felt in love with Maradona very quickly. His first game was not as he dreamed because Argentinos Juniors lost against Talleres de Córdoba. But after that he started an untouchable career as a footballer. He scored 116 goals in 166 matches with that team and Boca Juniors was his next step. There he won the Metropolitano 1981 championship and European flashes shot on him.
His story is well known. Barcelona and then Nápoli where the people is still loving him the same or more than in Argentina. From Italia he decided to return to Spain in order to play for Sevilla. He came back to Argentina in 1993 and dressed Newell´s Old Boys T-Shirt. And after a doping conflict he decided to end his career at Boca Juniors.
He won a lot of medals, trophies, and gold awards. But he also won the 1986 World Cup with one of the best goals ever seen. There is nothing more to say. He was Maradona. Maybe the best, at least, inside the pitch.
